# Therapy Prospect Matching

Companion Puppies For Therapy Dog Homes

Thoughtfully raised puppies with the temperament, connection, and confidence that may suit supportive therapy settings.

A thoughtful starting point for families considering a puppy for future therapy work.
A More Personal Way to Choose a Therapy Prospect
I begin by learning about your household, daily rhythm, experience with dogs, and the kind of therapy setting you have in mind. We can discuss the qualities that may matter for your goals, such as sociability, adaptability, confidence, and a willingness to engage.
I then share observations about suitable puppies based on their development and individual temperament. This is a guided conversation rather than a promise of future certification, giving you a clearer way to make a responsible choice and plan for continued socialization and training.

## FAQ

### What should I consider before bringing home a puppy?

Consider your household, daily routine, living environment, and ability to provide consistent care, companionship, training, grooming, and veterinary attention. A thoughtful match helps create a positive foundation for both the puppy and the family.

### What are Shih Tzus and Miniature Schnauzers generally like as companions?

Both breeds can be affectionate, engaging companions, but each dog has its own personality and needs. Learning about breed traits while paying attention to an individual puppy's temperament can help families choose a companion suited to their lifestyle.

### What kind of care does a puppy need?

Puppies need balanced nutrition, regular veterinary care, gentle training, socialization, exercise appropriate for their development, and plenty of patience. Establishing consistent routines supports healthy growth and helps a puppy become a well-adjusted household companion.

### How can I help a new puppy adjust to my home?

A calm introduction, a safe designated space, predictable routines, and positive reinforcement can make the transition easier. Allowing the puppy time to settle while offering gentle guidance helps build trust and confidence.

### Why is responsible breeding important when choosing a puppy?

Responsible breeding places importance on the wellbeing, temperament, and care of both parent dogs and puppies. Working with a conscientious professional encourages informed decisions and supports a more thoughtful approach to adding a dog to the family.
